'I Had To Do It,' Gunman Said After Fatal Music Studio Shooting: Report

A man was gunned down while inside a recording studio, NJ Advance Media reported.

Isaiah Shaw, 23, had worked in Lindenwold as a music producer and went by the nickname “DJ Zay" when he was shot in the head on Friday, Sept. 30, the outlet said, citing court documents.

Ronin A. Nevels, 23, allegedly said “I had to do it” after he fired at Shaw. Nevels, who also worked at the studio, was arrested for the killing the next day following a standoff at a Gloucester Township home, the report says.

On Instagram, the owner of Colossal Records says he is a music producer who goes by the name DJ Zay.

On Facebook, IAQ Recording Studios said: "We send our deepest condolences and sympathy to the Shaw family. . . .Such a gifted and talented young man gone way too soon.”
